i've always loved Bamboo the Person's voice since the first Rivermaya album, so much that i seriously doubted Rico Blanco's capacity to carry that band after he left. when i unexpectedly saw Noypi performed at a noontime show, i was more than glad. i was all surprise, excitement and elation. that song single-handedly brought my attention in pinoy rock back after the hardcore explosion indeed proved short-lived. by the time i got a copy of As The Music Plays, i became a total convert. this band's music fused in elements that i never heard fused before in filipino music. and it's that recipe makes them standout.
